I think we can all agree that the universal drink of the writers, is either coffee or tea. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I did recently stumble upon the discovery that I do like some teas. So far, chamomile is my favorite.
In my June Scribblers box (unboxing here), I received a bag of Soiree’s Citrus Chamomile tea. If you’ve never heard of Soiree, you can find their beautiful website here, and browse their tea blends. I really enjoyed looking at their website because they list some of the health benefits to different teas.
For instance, the benefits of drinking chamomile tea include: lowering blood pressure, reducing inflammation, cancer prevention, better sleep, and so much more! On a slight tangent, I’ve actually read that studies have proven that drinking chamomile tea will speed up the healing of wounds. How cool is that?
As for this particular tea, I was pretty impressed. My typical chamomile tea recipe is 1 cup water, 1/3 cup steamed milk, and 2 tablespoons of vanilla infused honey. I usually seep for about 4 minutes. Since this was a citrus tea, I wasn’t totally sure how milk and vanilla would taste in it. I took a sip before I added anything, and I actually really liked the taste on its own. Guys, all it took was a single tablespoon of lemon infused honey, and it was so delicious!
